Well, having finished reading Primal cover-to-cover, I've noticed a couple things I'd like to share my opinion on and get y'all's... What'd everyone think of the new Page 5? I was kinda disappointed personally, it conveyed the theme but I felt iy was really lacking in descriptive ferocity. Am I the only one that about wet themselves when they got to the back and saw the map of Immoren? Finally, not just another shot of Western Immoren, but the whole dang continent. Halleluja, it's about time. WHo doesn't love the new power attack "Rend"? I'm gonna have to pull that one as often as I can just for the cinematics. Besides, once units are out it'll be a really fun way to demolish them - charge the unit leader and "rend", then watch the rest of them run for the hills; Back strikes anyone? I'm thinking the first background section "Shadow History of Western Immoren" is from the poit-of-view of Magnus, don't you? Well, that's all for now. I'm sure I'll find more as I continue to reprocess this feral wonderfulness.

Rend nearly made me soil myself with glee! The thought of my big Mauler ripping an Iron Fang in half like a sheet of paper, or chewing up and spitting out a Stormblade just kinda made me giggle.
And now, am I the only one who thinks that the artwork/fluff for the Blitzer embodies everything I love about the IK/Warmachine/Hordes setting? Big and scary, topped with a little crazy, and some patchwork badass. (Yeah, same goes for the scattergunners)
Though I gotta say, I love my Trollbloods, but wow- just looking through Primal makes me envious...everyone got some REALLY cool stuff, and I dont think anyone could be disappointed.
And finally- yeah, I gotta agree, Magnus is probably the one telling the stories in the beginning, though it could be an Inquisitor (I think)

Ok I will say that I agree with on the whole page 5 thing. Mandy was all gung ho to read it, and we both were kinda like "umm,,, wtf" afterwards. After the amazing one in Apothesis I was really let down this one, but I guess there are so many school-girl references you can make before it might just get old. Bah, who am I kinding. If they talked about a little girl getting rended and her classroom fleeing in terror I would laugh I disagree of.
Speaking of Rend, yeah that is a bithen rules. I kinda whole they retroact that one to WM so our jacks as a powerattack can Rend things. Make the game much more intresting imho and suddenly fear effects might appear more than one every 10 games.
Also I agree with Fox. Every faction got some crazy ass shit I think. I mean I think comparing this book to Prime they did a better job making things just crazy but balanced to each other much more like the quality we saw in Escaltion.
Talking abotu the Shadow History I am not sure, but you two might be right. I did find it odd how they never mentioned who was saying it at all. I actually found myself like 2 paragraphes into skipping to the end to see if the the author was cited.
And the full map of the Immoren was whoa. I know somepeople thought it was bullshit there was all that space but nothing there but read the fiction. The Skorne where mostly nomadic so of course they didnt build huge walled cities like the Menoth Prices of western Immoren did. I am crossing my fingers on a IK source book of the Stormlands and the Skorne empire. I also loved the Lyoss story. Slowly we are learning more and more about who the Stormlands where created and the fall of the elves that lead to refugess of Ios and Nyss (pre-Thargosh "I WTFPWND your race" ). On that note Nyssor...wtf? Isn't he still alive. I would be so happy to see in the second book like he being re-awaken, but still too weak to do much, but have some Avatar asa Minion Warlock.
Also things I would love to see. I know they made it sound like the wanted to keep the game seperate but I really want to see them linked more. I never saw menation of the massive battle at the Orgoth Soul Cairn in the Trollboods section. Also the old Merc needs new errata. I think Magnus shoule be a Minion Warcaster to Skorne. I mean they work for the same fuckking guy! Boomhowler should be a minion for Skore (ties to Magnus) and Trollbloods (duh) and a few others I am not getting into right now, but I think we deserve that much imho.
I don't understand how come the Hardcover book cost $15 more though. I mean cardboard isn't that costly last I checked. But the softcover was one amazing deal. It's longer than Prime and in full cover for $5 more. I was sold right away.
I am hoping NQ is used to link things between the two lines better and put into play some killer cross game scenerios. I mean with 8 factions and two players games thats room for 28 speical scenerios (Combination of 8 taken 2 at a time, right?) So there is alot of freaken room there for scenerios. Maybe if they don't write them I will. Maybe. I am also lazy.

I found a fun little easter egg this morning. If you read the copyright mumbo jumbo on the title page, there's a fun desciption of their solution to copyright violators How is it that I always manage to pick the faction with the highest point cost big boys? I'm very impressed with how very specialized they've made each faction, their strengths and weaknesses are quite distinctive and make each army it's own entity.
